A brand new concept for fine dining in Worthing

The Dining Room is an innovative restaurant in Worthing, serving dishes made using locally-sourced ingredients from quality suppliers, and pushing culinary boundaries for all. Our mission is to put Worthing firmly on the culinary map, through a clear passion for good food, working with other great restaurants in the town and establishing a reputation for an amazing dining experience.  With an extensive range of menus and events, there’s something for everyone.

We first went to the dining room for afternoon tea on my birthday which was an exceptional and v good value for money. Last night we went for the 7 course tasting menu. The food was excellent the only shame about this place is that it isnt a little busier…one of those best kept secrets that shouldn’t be a secret! Highly recommend going if you value quality food and service!

Chef Patron, Jean De Rien, prepares the The Dining Room menus with care, ensuring they are full of new and challenging dishes reflecting the seasons and the best local ingredients. So, for example, we have fish courses like Black Bream with mussels, beurre blanc, fennel and black garlic. The bream is caught 500 yards away from the restaurant’s front door; the wild cherry plum vinegar in the beurre blanc is made in Sussex, and the fennel and shallots are grown in Kent.

Good food is also accompanied by good wine at The Dining Room, so we collaborate with major wine suppliers and renowned international wine judges to bring you a comprehensive wine list and a new wine flight that matches each Tasting Menu. A local focus is maintained on drinks as well as food, with a good selection of English wines and plenty of Sussex-produced beers and soft drinks to choose from.

The Dining Room offers a chic and contemporary haven of calm from the hustle and bustle. With its distinctive window frosting and blinds, the restaurant’s dining room keeps the outside world at bay and allows you to focus on the food, wine and company.

The UK’s only singing chef, who has been cooking for over 30 years, winning awards and accolades with his other businesses Vice Puddings, Not So Secret Suppers and Sundowners.

Jean has a passion for good food – be that street food, cakes or fine dining – and ensures that every menu has new and innovative dishes, often in quite challenging combinations. He champions quality local food production, sitting on the executive of the Worthing Adur Chamber of Commerce Industry and regularly organising events to showcase what’s on offer from Worthing and the local area.

Rosanne Nulty oversees the front-of- house operation and her experience in catering and hospitality ensures that customers are well looked after. Both she and Jean are qualified chartered accountants and she still has a management consultancy, specialising in risk management and performance.

Jean and Rosanne are joined by Jack Fleming and Aimee Pruden, both former McDonald’s managers, with Jack winning“Regional New Manager of the Year” in 2015. They bring their skills and experience to bear in the kitchen and front-of- house respectively.
